This project has been sponsored by the US Embassy Belgium to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge (Battle Ardennes) December 1944 - January 1945.
The battle in the Belgian Ardennes was the largest and most costly in lives of any battle in Western Europe and was the last major Nazi offensive of the Second World War.
The US Embassy has approved funds that will pay for school trips to visit the Bastogne War Museum and battlefield from February to May 2020.
There will also be Belgian survivors of the Battle to give first-hand accounts of how they lived through the ordeal.
The goal of the project is to educate children in the sacrifices that so many made - both civilian and military - to insure a free and democratic Europe.
All costs - including the bus, museum and lunches will be paid for by the US Embassy.
Typically one large commercial bus for about 50-60 persons will be available for each school.
We are now looking for Belgium schools to participate in this program.
If you are aware of a Belgian School /Class (students age; 14-18 years old) that would like to participate in this program please contact the Buddy Tour Guide FB messenger on this site:
