African American soldiers played a little known but critical role in the Second World War. Even though they were segregated from the white soldiers and treated as second class citizens they fought and died for their country. It was in Bastogne, that the first Presidential Unit award was given to these troops for their outstanding support in holding off the German advance.
This song by Avicci - Hey Brother - is a tribute to the Segregated Troops. It did not matter what the color of your skin was in the thick of battle. The white, black, brown, men and women had one common foe - the Nazi storm troopers that wanted to crush and destroy them.
